This is an easy review for me to write, because I can write and state with
experience and conviction that Texas Windows is a professional, locally-owned five star business. Owner and operator,
Jon Rutherford, is a one-of-a-kind, hands on, honest and hardworking, what I refer to in old school, professional who
worked on our home as though it was his own home.
Three years ago we had another company tint several of our windows, only
to realize that the tinting made little difference in blocking the sun and reducing the heat. We needed solutions, so here
is our story.
We desired solar screens and custom blinds for our Highland Village
home in May 2013, for energy efficiency (go green) upgrades, so we accepted 4 proposals and bids. From professional service,
highest quality material MADE IN THE USA, to fair and reasonable pricing, Jon Rutherford's, Texas Windows, presentation easily
distinguished itself from the other companies.
Native Texan and local resident Jon Rutherford, who personally performed
all the work in our home, is highly qualified and knowledgeable and with more than 10 years full-time experience as owner/operator
of Texas Windows, he answered all our questions, thoroughly explained the advantages of solar screens, stated all warranties,
and his prices were also less than the other 3 bids. (Yes, less.) As I sit here typing this review about Texas Windows, feeling
comfortable in our living room, with the sun no longer having me rotate from left to right on our couch, or squinting my
eyes, as it did prior to solar screen installation, I feel and enjoy the ambience and balance that comes with the
present energy.
Presently lacking, consequently, is also the Texas heat that used to
shine directly on us from the upper windows. We have 20' ceilings and lots of glass allowing natural light, and although we
have had the solar screens for only 3 months (May - July 2013), our electric bill has dropped noticeably (approximate reduction
of 20% compared to the same cycle the previous year). The natural light arriving through the solar screens is perfectly balanced
(East, West, North, and South sides) and the sun no longer shines directly in our eyes as stated.
Rutherford took precise measurements on every window, recorded and documented
the size, took photographs, and subsequently installed the custom solar screens and blinds to perfection. Another reason
why I state that Rutherford worked on our home as it was his home or his mother's home, and I have rarely seen this in business,
is that he personally, from start to completion, looked precisely at each window, solar screen and blind for any
flaw, then proceeded to measure, literally, each aspect of the application for an exact, custom fit. No portion of the
job was performed or completed unless it was balanced, aligned, and exactly centered to each window, again, a rare trait
in any company these days. Upon completion, Rutherford thoroughly removed all debris and cleaned each work location.
I want to reiterate that most businesses that I have dealt with fall
short in one or more areas of our mutual agreement, such as rushing the job thus causing shoddy work, failure to remove debris
or perform adequate cleanup (most companies fail here), damaging something while working, or, the most common breach, sending
employees to our home who have absolutely no idea as to what they are doing. About my latter statement, I am sure that
some would say that the employees lack proper training, but, since I lack political correctness, I am just telling how
the cows eat the cabbage here.
One regret, we should have hired Texas Windows years ago. And by the
way, we would have paid more than what Texas Windows charged.
